The RPM TL2+ case packer is used in many consumer goods applications, including frozen food, pharmaceuticals, beverage, produce, and CBD. In this application the high-performance machine is case packing various products including round and square preroll vials, softgel pill bottles, oil bottles, and vaping cartridges. All on the same machine. This highly versatile machine packs products at speeds up to 120 parts per minute into one or two cases simultaneously.
The puck handling infeed system accepts pucks of randomly spaced products and uses a pneumatic gating system to create arrays of products for picking. The proprietary RPM robot, controlled by a Rockwell controls package, picks up the products and places them into an array in a staging area. A final pick places all the products into a single layer in the case. RSC cases are automatically positioned using a pneumatic stop and clamping system.
Notable feature: The intermediate staging area uses a servo driven clamping system to snug products together for grouping. It also laser inspects each row to ensure the proper number of products.
